Santo Versace to grace Milano Residences event on July 23
Invitational event to showcase one-night-only Versace exhibit and raise funds for Operation Smile Philippines
July 23, 2011, Manila – Leading real estate firm Century Properties and Versace, the world-renowned fashion-luxury brand, will celebrate the success of The Milano Residences with an exclusive lifestyle exhibition and a social event on July 23 that will raise funds for the benefit of Operation Smile Philippines.
The event will be held at the Pacific Star Building in Makati City, the headquarters of Century Properties and the Milano Residences Showroom, to be highlighted by the arrival of Mr. Santo Versace, President of Versace SpA, as guest of honour.
At the venue, guests will be welcomed by the World of Versace at Milano Residences, a one-night-only lifestyle exhibit showcasing Versace furniture, home accents, timepieces, a mobile phone, fragrances and dresses. These items have been flown in from the Versace boutiques in Milan and Hong Kong and will be displayed exclusive to the guests of the event, together with the gallery of exquisite interior design themes created by Versace Home for Milano Residences.
A press briefing to announce Century Properties’ support to Operation Smile Philippines, a non-profit organization that spearheads medical missions for indigent children with facial deformities, will likewise be held at the venue together with Operation Smile Philippines President and Executive Director Mr. Roberto J. Manzano.
“We are doing this in thanksgiving of the huge success of the project. The Milano Residences since its launch last January is close to 70 percent sold. This is attributed to the immense value that the project presents to both investors and end users. Milano has truly become not just synonymous with true luxury, but it further elevated our standards and consciousness of the essential art of luxury living,” said Mr. Robbie Antonio .
The Milano Residences event is one of Century Properties’ highlights for 2011, its 25th anniversary. The Philippine developer, whose track record in luxury projects includes the award-winning Essensa East Forbes in Manila (by Pei Cobb Freed and Partners) is collaborating with the interior designers of Versace Home to provide an exclusive design service for the apartments and public spaces of The Milano Residences.
With 52 floors, The Milano Residences is the first project interior designed by Versace Home in Southeast Asia . It is slated for completion in 2015.
The building’s architecture will complement Versace Home’s elegant interior design aesthetic, which will be evident in the grand lobby, hallways, lounge, library, pool garden and spa. Versace Home will also create interior inspirations that residents may adopt for their own units, and they will also have the option to purchase Versace Home items.
The Milano Residences is expected to have a total of 340 units with 1 to 3-bedroom configurations. Prime units in various sizes and layouts include The Penthouses, The Townhouses and Italian-inspired units called The Loggias that feature private plunge pools – a first in a Makati condo.

SANTO VERSACE BIOGRAPHY
Santo Versace is the President of the Versace Group.
He was born in Reggio Calabria on December 16th, 1944 and graduated in Economics at Messina University in 1968.
He accumulated business experience during various jobs, began working first as banker in Reggio Calabria for Credito Italiano and then as high school teacher of Economic Geography.
In 1976 he joined his brother Gianni in Milan to support him in his rising career.
A year after in 1977, Santo along with his brother Gianni founded the GIANNI VERSACE trademark.
Santo played a leading role in establishing the exclusivity and profitability of the Versace brand by focusing on four care principles: communication, organization, productivity and quality.
With their sister Donatella, the team built the Versace empire into worldwide luxury company generating over one billion dollars per year in retail sales.
Today together with Donatella, Santo continues to lead the house of Versace into the future.
During 1998/1999 he was appointed President of the Italian Fashion Chamber.
In 1992 Santo was appointed President of “Altagamma,” the trade association for the Italian luxury industry, and today he is once again President.
He had been President of the Fashion School , Institute of Design and Marketing “Polimoda Srl”, since May 2006.
He had been President of the non-profit “Fondazione Operation Smile Italia Onlus” since January 2007.
He has been elected member for Chamber of Deputies in Italian Parliament since April 2008.
